Margaret Hopps (Knowlton)
1946-2024
It is with great sadness that we inform you of the sudden passing of Margaret Hopps on June 18th, 2024, in her 78th year.
Predeceased by her parents Frederick and Catherine (Hay) Knowlton, her sister Virginia Price and her husband William Hopps. Loving mother of Billy and Penny (Shawn McCowan) and her grand-daughters Lexi-Jade and Jenna. Cherished sister of Mary (Jim Lutes) and sister-in-law to Mary Ward, Hope Schofield and the late Myrtle Lafond.
Born in Sussex, N.B and later married and settled in Bolton Est. Qc. Margaret, was a retired elementary school teacher in Mansonville, Qc. She was passionate about her work and the success of her students. She had many wonderful memories with staff and students.
An extraordinary woman, wife, mother, grand-mother, and friend. Those who knew her felt how she loved fiercely and un-conditionally. A force of nature that would do anything in her power to ensure the happiness of those around her.
A graveside service will be held at the Pine Hill Cemetery (933 Rue des Pins, Magog, QC J1X 6G4) on September 7th, 2024, at 11am followed by a reception at the Salon Funéraire Ledoux in Magog.
